What do you tell your AM if they ask about your traffic? What is the best response

Well it all depends on what kind of traffic they allow for the offer you are promoting. Obviously if they do not allow social traffic and allow banners, I'd tell them I am doing media buys. And then I'd throw in some info such as what kind of audience you are targeting and what kind of CPM you are getting.

If you are spoofing or blanking your traffic and your traffic is converting on the back end you shouldn't worry at all. I usually talk to my affiliate managers every couple of days just to touch base, however i do not discuss my traffic sources since they know that I would never disclose this since that is equivalent to a suicide. Hope this helps.

why do they even ask if they usually will accept a 2 word response and then just be like OK.. or do their boss just make them ask as part of their job but really the AM do not care and wants to make money?

Conversions are what matters. Depending on what you are promoting you are more or less likely to get kicked out or have your payout rates lowered accordingly if your conversions are low.

    1. CPM - if no one clicks your banners, expect serious adjustments and possible suspensions.

    2. CPC - if you have too few clicks, its OK, it's your loss, but if you score a ton of clicks and none of your traffic converts, expect an adjustment of your payout rates or possible investigation and suspension, especially if you get lots of clicks with low overall traffic.

    3. CPA - depends on what the Action required is - if they are paying you for free sign-ups and then none of the free sign-ups actually convert you may get kicked out of the program, because who wants to pay for non-converting visitors anyway.

Basically if they can't find the true nature of your traffic after investigating your account, i.e. you are not violating their rules blatantly and obviously, you can BS them into thinking you are playing by their rules.
