I found a nice domain name (9+ years old) that is expiring soon, and would like to make an offer to purchase the domain.

Newbie Question: what precautions should I pay attention to before I buy it?

What are the best way to find out if there is any problem with the domain, i.e. how to determine if it has been banned / de-indexed by G ?

Also, what are the best method of find out what kind of backlinks the domain already has? And how to remove "bad" backlinks?

This maybe a big topic, so I appreciate any input

    Thanks and regards

You can view it's backlinks with tools like semrush or Spyfu.

What tool/tactic are you using to hunt for expiring domains BTW?

What if the seller is unresponsive? How else can I find out if there is any "complexation" about the domain?

    Thanks

OK sounds good, I will use the tools to check the domain.

No, no tactic, I just check Godaddy and expireddomains.net. And I did find one I wanted.

    Thank you

First of all, confirm whether that domain is banned by google previously or deindexed.

Check its value, and since it is 9 years old, seller would say pretty large price. So, if you are investing large money, i would say check whether domain got bad links. You can remove backlinks only by contacting those site webmaster.

    Thank you Neobboy.

That is exactly what I want to find out: how do I "confirm whether that domain is banned by google previously or deindexed"? Appreciate any hint
