All answers below relate to making wordpress sites.

Tactical Gamer - I would use wordpress to build the site. The theme I would use would be e-commerce market theme. Add plug-ins / optimize it to be ready for posting. I would then do massive amounts of research on tons of flash games & other types of games that get searched or that are popular on other gaming sites. If you researched using a keyword tool I'm sure tons of the games you found on the gaming sites would result in 0 searches per/month but don't believe that number. If people are playing & they are ranked high on game sites, it's being searched trust me.

Once I had a large "keyword" base I would then try to create micro-niches within my niche game topic. With market theme you can easily create posts, add an image & an add to cart feature for everypage. With these types of niches /micro-niches you won't need to worry so much about on page SEO so your posts literally could look like this.

    Title: Bubble Blobs

    Description: <h1>Bubble Bobs</h1>

Example 1: Click here for instant access (affiliate link to site that pays). Not sure if any gaming sites pay for leads or not you would have to research this.

Example 2: Click here for huge discounts on games (cpa offer / affiliate product)

Example 3: I would be selling an ultimate game guide or some type of digital product related to the gaming niche. Even if the guide doesn't relate to that this specific game you can still make sales. If you have a catchy sales pitch you have the right traffic because he is a gamer....you just need him to get interested or give him the right bonus offer. Also collect his email as a lead for later sales tactics or you could go the route of adsense on the pages if you like that better. (Adsense I am not experienced in so can't give advice).

I would make it a goal to absolutely cover a specific game for any possible search terms. Bubble Blobs, Play Bubble Blobs, I want to play bubble blobs, bubble blobs update, bubble blobs free, new version of bubble blobs.....go on & on. If you think it sounds like something someone would search your probably right, don't always trust keyword tools with micro-niches.

Each product post would take me no more than 5 minutes to create. Title, description, tags, add to cart feature & image. Personally i would save a few descriptions on note pad & just copy paste it in. If your real lazy you could use "imacro's on Firefox" & record yourself making a product post for that gaming category. Just press play and all your fields are put in for you. Simply edit the Title & you have a new product post ready for ranking.

If your worried about duplicate content in micro-niche areas this doesn't play a big affect from my experience. But you could also add the WP-REVIEWS plug in to help create new content on the pages if it was a major concern.

The benefit of posting 50 to 100 new product posts in your one niche is that you take over tons of different keywords. So even if they only get a few visits per-day they add up & make profits.

Also when you have tons of pages ranking on the first page of the search engine your site gets authority in that "gaming niche" so when you start posting for other gaming keywords it will be much easier to rank!

Not to mention your category, tags, & home page will rank along side of everything.

Wow that was way longer than I wanted it to be but that is a strategy I would use or something very close to it.
