    Guys,

I'd like to discuss a theoretical discussion I had with a friend of mine.

Let's say you had 500,000$US and needed to build 100 Authority Sites in various niches. What would you do and how would you proceed?

Here's what I had in mind:

    Hiring
    Hire the following people full-time:
    1 President (50K)
    1 Project Manager (50K)
    1 SEO Specialist (50K)
    1 Content Specialist (50K)
    1 Social Media Specialist (50K)

    Outsourcing
Outsource the actual work and have the managers oversee the different sites such as:
content creation (text, infographics, video) (30K)
    website development and integration (40K)
    SEO (50K)
    social media (20k)

Keep the 110K for more content creation once you know which authority site picked up.

    What do you guys think?

Also, do you think it's a good business model to be profitable?

    Thanks for your input!

It seems you don't have experience in building sites. If you start your project with this experience then you will be in loss. I advice you to start small sites first or 1 or 2 authority sites first and ramp it up. The prices you quoted is high and your plan of action should be different.

$500,000 on legit facebook ad spend for a popular subject fan page, then use that to advertise your authority sites, twitter accounts IG accounts, and bang the entire wheel out from there using targeted fans by narrowing their demographic down using FB ads. Then again I just started using facebook 48hrs ago, so I don't know sh*t but seems like a good idea.

Too much money, too big a team. I could only see this resulting in a loss. You could do it all for a lot lot less.. And who has the time to manage 100 authority sites?

Jon, with respect, I think your sentence is contradictory. How can you say "who has time to manage 100 authority sites" and that there's "too big a team", the reason why it needs a bigger team is because it will certainly take a lot of time to manage.

I hear what you guys are saying about having too many chiefs but at the same time: 100 sites = approx 2 sites per week. So it's a lot of work and I doubt that only 2 persons could do it. Just ordering the texts and reviewing all of them takes a lot of time if you want to have quality content. Same for SEO, if you hire on oDesk, they need direction and proper instructions.

@Scorpion King, I do have experience building niche website having built smaller niche websites for the last 3 years, however, I haven't yet built a bigger authority site so I would welcome your input. Here's why I quoted those prices and to me, they make sense. But, don't hesitate to tell me what you think and how you think I should adjust:

    Initial Content (30K)
    Phase 1: 100 sites x 10 articles per sites x 10$ per article = 10,000$
    Phase 2: Top 60 sites x 10 articles per sites x 10$ per article = 6,000$
    Phase 3: Top 20 sites x 30 articles x 10$ per article = 6,000$
About 8,000$ of Infographics, Images, etc.

    Website Development (40K)
    About 30 Wordpress premium themes x 50$ = 1,500$
    100 sites x 40 hours per site x 8$ = 32,000$
Additional Time on 20 best sites = 6,500$

    SEO (56k)
    Phase 1: 100 sites x 50 hours per site x 7$ = 35,000$
    Phase 2: Top 60 sites x 30 hours per site x 7$ = 12,600$
    Phase 3: Top 20 sites x 60 hours per site x7$ = 8,400$

    Social Media (20 k)
Setting Accounts on most relevant Socia Networks, Almost daily updates, etc.
    100 sites x 40 hours (over 1 year) x 5$ = 20,000$

@CEPI: I like what you said about buying Facebook Display Ads for the top sites, it makes sense.

Dont put all your money at initial stage itself. Start with 1 or 2 authority sites and get a help from freelancers. Once you start earning from that, invest it again on more sites and scale up.
