Hi Guys, newie here and I need a little advice on Adwords. The situation is the following:

I have my target market in the US and Canada, but I'm not located there, my competitors are bidding high, beyond my budget on keywords and my ads are not being showed, let's say the keywords are bidding at 8 or 9 times my budget.

I've worked in all the advices I've read here, good landing with call to actions, words related to the keywords, ads made after same keywords that points to different landing pages etc. But my budget is much less than the average.

I've asked a few friends in the US to google the terms and click in some competitors ads to lower their daily budget but the effort is not good enough.
How can I do it from outside the US? how can i search for those keywords and lower their budget if my IP is not from there?

I'm new at PPC, but a good advice will really help, any ideas?

If you have already optimized your landing page, ads and have a good quality score, then there isn't much you can do to compete at adwords. However, not all is lost. Few suggestions below.

    1. Can you increase pricing to justify increasing your budget?

    2. Find out where your competitors hang out - e.g. forums. Advertise directly there. This can often be a much cheaper alternative to adwords. (e.g. - start a sales thread at BHW)

    3. Check out Facebook ads. This may or may not work based on your industry. (and twitter, linked in etc)

    4. Optimize your website to rank for long tail keywords. Often the well funded competition may not focus on the low volume long tail keywords and it may be possible for you to rank organically for these. (e.g. say your keyword is "widget" - the competition will buy up all adwords for any variation of "widget" and may also rank highly for the keyword "widget" - but in their SEO efforts they may be ignoring keywords like "blue widget" or "buy blue widget" or "blue widget for xyz". You can target these very specific long tail keywords.

    1. I can't increase the pricing, I'm the owner and I can't afford more budget on adwords at this moment.
    2. Working on it!
    3. I've launched a Facebook campaign also.
    4. Most of my keywords are long tail, my service is local but sold to foreigns.

That's my frustration, I think I'm following 100% all the great tips here, yet it's very hard to compete vs the big ones. Thus, the only idea I had is to mine their budget although this is not 100% ethic.

    Thanks!

First thing to know that our competitor is not our enemy, we don't click on our competitors ads.

If you can't increase budget then that niche is not for you.

So the only solution is to increase the budget?

OP iff they have a bigger budget you must optimize better and also find a niche they are not exploiting. You cannot beat money head to head with less money. Find the terms they forgot and own those.

And by clickimg their ads you're helping them lol, you're increasing click thru and quality score. Unless you have more money than them by far you cannot bleed them.
