A post on a blog of mine has gone viral and I was wondering if anyone had some tips on what to do in terms of monetization, I'm still incredibly new to all this and just want to make sure I'm making the best of the traffic (pretty sure I'm not).

Right now I have Adsense and a few targeted Amazon products up which are making decent money every day.

Any helpful thoughts (or criticism) would really be appreciated!

    Make money with clickbank
If it's a good post then people need more info and you can search clickbank for a product related to your post

You are mot likely already doing the most you can. Viral posts typically do not have the best click through rate, as well as the best CPC (niches that go viral simply do not have such a high CPC). So in fact, if you have there Adsense and Amazon, and let's say you make $15 out of every 1000 visitors, I do not think you can make it any bigger.

Regarding Clickbank I have never had much success there, I think it's mostly due to my poor skill at finding good products on the site...

That was more what I was asking, thanks! (If when a post goes viral you are supposed to do anything special with changing ads or just leave it).

The CTR is indeed very low compared to normal. I'm experimenting with different ad placement now to see what works best but I will leave the rest as is.

Content lock it! :) Bank some easy cash. But all depends on what the post is that goes viral.

If the post is within a certain niche try having a CPA to get a decent email list. Can always promote an offer later on, your other methods are what most would go for (amazon and adsense).

Promote your affiliate links, if you have any related products.

Put a share button on there or a Like clickjacking script, so it goes even more viral, then add a content locker on it!

Interesting. I have never experimented with content lockers before but I have read a lot about them on here, I'll give it a shot with a site with less traffic first and if all goes well use it on main site.

Normally 200-400 uniques/day, but since Sunday an average 25-35k/day. Today was slower than normal, hoping things pickup again during the weekend.

Yeah the post isn't really too targeted toward any specific audience, I've tried a few targeted non-Amazon offers and gotten clicks but 0 sales :(

    See above!

Good idea, I'll make social media buttons more visible tonight.

Just a quick update, due to the traffic of that post I was able to sell this blog for a few thousand back in June - the website was in the cooking/baking niche and marketing was done solely with ideas based on joshweaver9's Pinterest thread. Thanks again for all the help BHW.
