My site was on the first page of google for about 5 or 6 great keywords. All of a sudden I tried to run an adwords campain as well and BAM.. the site dropped off into the abyss. Wasnt deindexed but dropped off totally.

Been waiting 2 months and has not returned. All pages still indexed but site has a -30 penalty.

Whats the best way to deal with this?

Will the penalty carry over if I get a new domain and 301 the old pages to the new domain?

    Any ideas?

    thanks

You don't really give much info about your site or linking, but add more decent quality content and especially get more high quality authority links (not scrapebox crap) with good / varied anchor text. Try getting social media links eg. Twitter or statusnet. All the usual stuff really. -30 isn't really a major penalty, or else they would dump you right down the bottom; it's more of a warning to clean your act up IMHO. It could also just be a natural fluctuation in the serps.
