You can continue using proxies or if you have a DSL connection that has dynamic IP then switch off your router and then turn it back on (that should get you a new IP address).

how do i change the mac address on my router if i am using comcast gateway (router and modem in one)
i am in the admin panel and did not see where to do so.
    i also did a:

    ipconfig/release ipconfig/renew

    to no avail

even went as far as changing the ip renewal to hourly to make sure to have a new ip

Did you keep it off for 8 hours? If not, try that.

Don't you think that's bit of an overkill? Kinda like buying new car when the old one runs out of gas...
