Hey all, have been reading this forum for around 2 months now and felt I should give some of these thing a go. I started a simple blog on blogger for xbox 360 games. The following is SEO I have done 1. Digged, facebooked, flickred, myspace 2. article submission to 3 venues (Ezines, AC, Ehow) 3. have an RSS Feed set up and burned it with Feedurner. I do have Adsense on the site as of right now and I also ran prstorm for around 200 urls that I scraped and yet NO Traffic. Is their is some huge step I am missing or did I start in a bad niche? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if I need to just keeping hit the search button let me know.

Friends,
What is the keyword you optimize? The game keyword is full of competition is not easy for a day to the top of se page.

You feed what SE want and they will give you the traffic. The new site with mass submitting links will get out of the sandbox and the worse your site will get ban.

I'm tire now. Good nite.

in that niche, you'd need a longtail keyword

try writing articles on "arcade style driving games exclusively for the xbox 360" etc.

you'll get traffic pretty quick that way =]

did you ping it, and submit it technorati and similar sites?

this is correct. keywords, Keywords, KEywords, KEYWORDS.

Use as many free keyword tools as you can, google adword tool, seo-book, wordtrackers free tool.

AND USE THEM, in content on your blog. Update that blog everyday for a while, and build some backlinks to relevant sites with good pr.

I cant stress it enough...... KEYWORDS!

Keywords k got it thanks all for your help will apply this idea. and thanks for making it easy.

Once you find some keywords make a youtube video for each one.

Put your blog address in the information box next to the video.

You should get some decent traffic from this.

blogs are not easy!

For the first 3 weeks atleast you should be updating every day! ouch.

Unless you have 21 niche articles on your topic already written, its gonna be a bolt load of work.

Then you have the backlinking, on page seo, etc. it just adds up to alot of work.

I for one, f**king love them though!

Im in the same boat as well. Maybe we can help each other out. I'm writing about the law of success and better living in my blog. www.thelawofsuccess.blogspot.com

Whats your blog address?
Do you have aim?

Do you use stumblupon or mybloglog?

your article should have top keywords in it. always ping your Blog after adding new content.. also try Google Ping Service..
Code:
http://blogsearch.google.com/ping

I am seeing that the article magic number is 50 - 100 before traffice starts exploding.

Yes I agree totally. Target the wrong keywords and you are dead. Spent 50% of your time on keywords and bundle them up in excel for future reference. Go and optimize your on site seo properly and after that, link spam on your targeted anchor text. After that move on to your next keywords and DON'T look back after a week.

Amazing guys, thank you everyone for your help. I will start writing ten a day. Should these be mass submitted to all the directories or spun and submitted to maybe four or five of the larger ones? Again any advice is further appreciated.

Ping the site for a few days and see the results that you get. I have a similar site and all I have done to make it profitable is to constantly submit it via ping-o-matic etc.

Someone in BHW also offered a huge list of site that you can submit your blog to - this was over the summer and I can't recall the post or I'd have given you the link.

Hope this helps.

Make sure you check how many people are looking for your keyphrase (wordtracker free keyword tool/google free keyword tool)

Then check how competitive the keyword phrase is in google (SEO plugin for firefox)

There is nothing more annoying than:

1 - Picking a keyword phrase with no traffic

2 - Picking a keyword phrase that is too competitive for you to get on the first page of google

bhapi where can you get that plugin?

Thank you!

Sesrch for:

SEO firefox extension

On google and choose the result at seobook.com

In addition to long tail keywords, you need lots of links to the page with the long tail keywords. In addition to Blogger, start up a squidoo lens, a hubpage, a wordpress blog, and one or two other parasite accounts linking to your main page. If you are going to do that much work, get cheap hosting for a wordpress blog rather than blogger.

one thing to try would be link building via forum posting. You can also do this a bit with blog posting. Keep this stuff on topic, but there are lots of good forums / blogs within your niche.
