    Hi,

In this moment I live in Spain and I'm making some money on internet! But in this moment I don't know what taxes I need to pay! This thread is most for spanish people from this wonderful forum! I need to know what taxes I need to pay and where! I need to be "autonomo" or "empresa"? If the answers is affirmative, what is the best choise (I don't earn very much for the moment)? Or just with my DNI I can pay the taxes?

I think all the spanish people pay taxes! So, please share your experience in this area!

    Thanks

To start with you need a NIE number then you can apply to enter the Spanish PAYE system and pay all your dues

Why do I need an NIE Number?

You will require a Spanish NIE Number, or as it is now referred to as a foreign registration certificate if you are going to live and/or work in Spain. This is now obligatory and a pre-requisite for the following actions performed in Spain

    • Buying a property
    • Open a Bank account
    • Apply for a driving license and to validate your current EU driving license
    • Apply for a business permit
    • Apply for a mortgage or other type of loan.
    • Pay your taxes
    • Contract Utilities; Telephone (inc. mobiles), electric, water, gas etc
    • To make purchases above Euros €3,000
    • Employment contracts

The Personal Income Tax (Impuesto sobre la renta de las personas físicas/IRPF) is a direct tax levied on the income of individuals.

The individual's income may be obtained either from dependent work or by means of self-employment: development of a business or professional activities.

The taxable income is determined as the difference between the income earned and the expenses that are deductible according to Spanish Law.

You must file an income tax return in Spain if you:

    - Earn more than € 22,000.00 a year.

    - Changed your job within the same year and your last employer paid you more than EUR 1,500 during the year.

The tax period coincides with the calendar year.
