Only one I really know was Sean Parker for Napster. You could say Zuckerberg for hacking into Harvard's database but thats not that bad lol.

There is a famous saying about rich men.. "The first million is always the hardest", and 80% of all the millionaires would have used some blackhat techniques to make their first million.

Just came back from Affiliate World Asia. The dude who sold EliteDaily.com for 50 millions said they were "pushing the boundaries" ... a lot.

IMO, pushing the envelope is a mandatory requirement to get any worthwhile project off the ground.

I would say a large majority of successful entrepreneurs did some "shady" stuff in the beginning, some are even still doing it. Tai Lopez built his entire "business" based on lies.

    Hello,

    Steve Jobs:
    - he made a blue box and wanted to sell it
    - he stole technologie and ideas from XEROX (a mouse + a graphic interface)

Hard to steal something when you've paid for it. "Apple bought access to the PARC by means of a stock deal"

So scraping data from an external website is now considered hacking the database?

As you said "Apple bought access to the PARC by means of a stock deal"", Apple didn't buy for the rights to use this technology for its profit.

What do you think "paying stock for access" means? Cookies and orange juice while strolling inside a building?
