I'm sorry this is not a tutorial. I apologise if I have posted it in a wrong section. I'm looking for a productive discussion and insight from BHW members, who are from diverse background, different expertise and have wealth of experience.

Time and again I wonder can I be 100% anonymous? Can I beat the POWERFUL who sit in front of supercomputers and have the infinite resource to track what users with my laptop with 15 mbps speed and limited resources? I love my freedom and I don't want others to interfere it as I'm not doing any law breaking or illegal stuff. I just want them to leave me alone.

The things I know to ensure anonymity and privacy as follows. Kindly contribute to the list below and enhance our understanding.

    1. Blacklist Google and its products.
    2. Not to trust a VPN. No matter what they proclaim they are not going to help you. HMA, Privacy.li etc have proved time and again.
    3. Use open software like VM and tail while browsing internet.
    5. Never to put personal information on open forums and social media.
    6. Implement a strong cryptography in all types of online communication.
    7. Disable javascript, flashes.
    8. Block/regularly delete cookies.

    Please contribute your knowledge....

Why are people that paranoid about online privacy. Just be happy and do legit stuff so nobody has to find you.

Absolutely, but there are risks of getting "attacked" by idiots in legal niches too. I literally got murder threats when I ranked over a competitor - No jokes. Better safe than sorry lol.

Yes I know, but I'd rather not get photos of beheaded people in my email/physical mailbox. :) I agree with you though!

I don't do illegal thing. I just don't want to be tracked without my consent. They are not providing us internet for free. Privacy is my basic right.

I follow a couple privacy people. Michael Bazzell is my favorite. I take a good amount of steps you mentioned above, plus use plugins like Facebook Container, Amazon Container, Google Container... Other big ones, I use a shared rewards club number that quite possibly hundreds if not over a thousand people use. I also pay with cash as much as possible. Hide in the crowd and don't give the credit card companies anything more to track then you have to.

I don't do shady stuff, but like many people out there I don't want to get tracked and have my shopping habits tied to my web browsing and such. Facebook doesn't need to follow me around and see what sites I go to.

Because they are not infallible. One may catch something the other missed.

Yes, but also no. You can run CCleaner first, then BitBleacher right afterwards and it will catch stuff CCleaner missed, and vise versa. I always use both now.

Well, I have AK-47 (from 90s) and CZ-99 in my house. Keyboard warriors can come any moment!
And about privacy, the moment you're on the internet you're followed, just deal with it, and don't stress much about it. There is no such thing as privacy anymore, unless you leave without internet connection on some lake or mountain.

I think online privacy is overrated, you could have multiple aliases on the net beside your true identity presence and no one could connect the dots less you're involved in really shady business, just dont let it trace back to you and there are great tools for that ( encrypted emails/clouds, bitcoin, proxies ... ), you should be fine even with yout real identity out there.

If you are really paranoid about privacy...
You should stop using operating systems that track you and could potentially have backdoors in place.

There are some tools that can identify you with a high probability with the way you write . Even if you change your name on forums or on websites they can track you by the way you express yourself online. Totally weird and scary..
