What software do i use to check if my site's indexed? Also what software will show me things such as bounce rate, increase in google page rankings etc? thats preferably free thanks

Sign up for Google webmaster tools - that way you also get to see the keywords people are using to get to your site (at least for now). Google analytics doesn't give you this info any more.

Do one thing,
site: your website domain
and then search on Google.You may know how much pages of your website got indexed.

Google Analytics is the tool that you are actually giving Google more information about your visitors to your site and won't help you know if your site is indexed or not. Google WMT is the tool that will help you see how your site is getting indexed, and is a tool that Google is sharing information about your site that it already has.

But just to see if your site is indexed the "site:yourdomain" is all you need.

Always it is better to check manual by searching as site:yourwebsite.com. If you get some results then your site got indexed.

I use Google Web Master Tools or "search console" as it has been rebranded.

Also, don't forget Bing's Web Master Tools too.

Web Master Tools, Search Console, and Analytics can not be avoided. These are must do tasks.

I use only one way . That is by writing site:www.mydomainname.com .
