I have a good idea and some unique information that I want to monetize on a website. My question is what would be the best method to sell this information?

I've seen sites that offer similar information that basically trip over themselves to get the visitor's email address. I just don't understand what the great value is of having an email address? I understand you can send out newsletters but if people don't spend any money then what's the point?

Then there is the E-Book download. This seems like a good idea but it restricts the amount of money one could make to that one download, and then there's always the strong probability of it being copied and handed out for free.

Finally there is the membership route which seems like the best, but since I'd be offering unique information, I don't see how I'd spread that out over months or years. In other words, eventually I'd run out of unique ways to spin the info to people. I could release it in a trickle to new members but the information really needs to be digested in one large portion for it to be beneficial so this doesn't seem like it would work either.

Any suggestions from anyone else who has monetized information?

Use something like cj.com or clickbank.com People always may spread it even if it is membership website.
