I have a site that has original content/images and so forth. But I wanted to make some written Wordpress content. I don't have space on my root, so I thought about creating another page for like news, help & tips. I don't know if I want to call it a blog. Also want to keep SEO in mind too. So like calling it

mydomain.com/help or mydomain.com/news might give me better SEO opportunities than mydomain.com/blog

But I am a thinking that mydomain.com/more might be better or interesting? Less SEO but it seems like there might be more.

    What are your thoughts?

Keep it - mydomain.com/news and make sure you update your blog regularly. Because google love the new content. :)

I am surprised nobody else recommended this.

    1. Install wordpress
    2. import your existing static pages into wordpress
2a. You can keep existing urls, or use redirects
    3. Use wordpress for adding new pages
    4. Use either /blog or /new or /whatever for your blog pages
    5. ????
    6. Profit

In 99% of the cases, it is easier to use wordpress to manage pages, than to try and keep static pages up to date.

Plus, with some of the more extreme caching plugins, your wordpress site can effectively be serving static pages.

I would keep it mysite/news and then think about adding your content on local variations like...

    mysite/news/TucsonArtists

You may be able to take advantage of local keywords and get some industry specific traffic...

my opinion, i suggest news and constantly update contents. you will get more hits than using blog.
