I am doing some research on most popular SEO tools, that are mission-critical for site owners, but are too expensive.

Please post below, the SEO tools you really need, but can't afford to buy and I'll try to work on a cheaper solution, for the same quality.

If you can't afford a specific tool, you do it manually until you can afford it. That's how I started out. I think doing the work manually is good for people to learn. Without doing a lot of things manually myself years ago I wouldn't be where I am today.

If someone can't afford $150 then they shouldn't be looking for tools, they should be focusing on learning.

You can try Opensiteexplorer or free Majestic SEO to check some backlinks. I also use smallseotools (it's free).

Xrumer definitely something I'd like to have but don't feel like paying that much for.

I am not looking for some free tools. Btw, opensiteexplorer is a tool that crashes 25 times in 24 hours( like now : "Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects." )

Ok, let's be clear. SEO tools, not spamming tools. And by creating a cheaper alternative, I mean a web version.

A web version of facebook dominator, can be easily be banned by facebook.

Try to create a cheaper alternative SEOmoz :D They charge $99 a month, you can create something that would cost less. Or create something like SEO Book, they charge $300 a month, it's really a lot of money. Or something like Keyword Elite...

As far as I saw, SEOBook charges so much because they provide a lot of training videos.

Now, regarding SEOmoz, I have a 3 months trial subscription with them and the only tool I use is "keyword explorer". And yes, I would need that as a free tool.
