what script/sitebuilder is this site using?

The google is your friend!

Code:
http://www.google.com/search?q=youtube+clone

Code:
http://clip-bucket.com/demo/

I do believe this is what they are using.

hope this helps :)

That script and template look great, however, where does his money come from? There are no ads, subscription services, or anything...?

@hawke I think that is it, nice find.

Would this answer my question? No :)

BH

In fact, your question was "Any software out there which make a site similar to this one, with categories and such?"

So, yes, it DID answer your question.

It looks like he is using it as a web 2.0 media site and is probably pushing videos and offers through it just like everyone else. Also, making his money from admin advertising to the member's list by making offers to his other services and upgrades that way.

Pretty basic membership site practice...especially for free services. Especially, ones that don't want to use ads due to youtube and google being their direct competition in that regard.

To me, it looks like they're pulling data from YouTube, so springer98 was describing exactly what you're looking for: a "youtube clone". There are several out there, and all they do is pull rss feeds from yt and put them in a different template. I took a quick look in Google but did not find the exact template in use by the site that you're wishing to copy.

If you want to learn how to do this kind of thing (to save money, not time), take a look here:

One reason could be that the site is new, and the owner hasn't monetized it yet. I clicked on a few of the footer links (Advertise, Privacy, etc.), and there's no content on those pages yet. Also, the footer has links to other sites that are monetized.

its actually a script called videowatch, its alot better code than all the other crappy utube clones.

Code:
videowatchpro.com

With video sites the smart players dont start running ads until they have built up the repeat vistors numbers.
