I have an interview coming up for an Online Marketing Consultant / SEO Consultant job and would like to know a few questions I could possibly ask at the end of the interview to show I am keen on the job. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You would be better off preparing yourself for the questions, tasks, tests that they are going to put your through, rather than getting a feel for the job.

I take it this will be your first seo job and if you don't know what you are doing, ( I don't assume to know either way ) , be sure and know it before you take it, or it will be your first and your last, unless you are doing a training program or something of the sort.

You don't want that on your rep. Know the job, don't learn as you do when someone is hiring/paying your to DO what you don't really know yet...it is instant death.

If you are qualified, you will already know the answers to these questions, however, if not...I sincerely wish you the best of luck and hope you reconsider before damaging your future oppertunity to do more of the same line of work.

    Hope that helps.

ha, one of the main questions i ask potential employees is about canonical links.

And i am not the only one who asks this so be sure to get up to scratch on this.

The thing that stands out to me is the people who are constantly learning and keeping up to date with updates.

So one question you might want to ask is what changes have they as a business made to ensure their clients are not affected by recent Panda Updates ( i am presuming this is an marketing agency.., so apologies if its just a normal company looking to get a specialist in)

However if they are just a normal company looking for a specialist, they might know the basics i.e onsite seo, and backlinks, but this gives you full range to show off and pretty much lie your teeth off with "Goldmine" information that might not be 100% true but will convinve the employer you know your stuff.

Don't just flatter with the old techniques.
In my starting eras i attained some of this kind of interviews. i just take time from them and find some major errors in their sites. Tell them to solve these problems and see the results.
the second that you can do is to show yourself very experienced and talented also dedicated to your work. that's enough to get a job.

I always ask them to look at our company site and:

name one thing you would do onsite to improve our site rankings

    and then

name one thing you would do offsite to improve our rankings

you can tell a lot from someone by asking them pretty basic questions and seeing how they respond.

I suppose its a bit like how top chefs sometimes ask new candidates to cook an egg, easy to get right but easy to get wrong.
