What questions do i ask before hiring someone to build me a bot?

Hey guys! Long time lurker, i created a mens fashion IG account in December that now sits at 16k real followers using Instagress, MP, Gramista all are dead and don't wish to rely on these business anymore. My page is a passion project and its something i really enjoy doint. Anyways, i stumbled on bot makers on Fivver.com and had some questions.

I use an old macbook and have pretty decent internet connection, usa (If it matters)



How do i know he or she is the one for the job?
How much does this usually cost?
Does having my own bot lessen my chances of getting caught up with the IG police?
Will i need to rely on him/her in the future?
How long does it take to build one?
How do i protect myself?

This depends, what do you want? Multi threads? A slick Gui? only follow/unfollow? use of proxies? etc etc.

I'll assume you mean in comparison to other bots, yes and no it depends on many factors and how well the bot creator hides footprints.

Will i need to rely on him/her in the future?
Perhaps, it all depends on if the site undergoes changes.

Again depends on what you are building and skill/experience of programmer.

How do i protect myself?
Reputation, past experience and a condom

Essentially what you are asking is equivalent to, how much and how long will a boat take to make, will it sink in the future? without anyone knowing if you want a yacht or a paddle boat built.

I'm not too experienced on this, but since ig has security patches it is likely that you would your developer in the future to enhance the bot. I believe that's what the guys at MP did.

LOL thank you so much for the reply.. I'm looking for more of a Kayak. A bot that unfollows/follows and likes.

Are you going to use the bot for a single account?

i work as a freelancer and if i were on your side i would provide the most information i could about what i would want for a bot. Follow/unfollow who? Drop likes on who? Drop likes on what condition? What needs to be automated?

Some process showed on a PDF with images and some arrows pointing what you're looking for.

I wouldn't ask for a GUI, just some stuff on a terminal, way faster to get a program done.

Don't use Fivver, For hiring programmers i suggest using a better provider, freelancer, guru etc. (These companies protect your money better for bigger projects, fiver is mainly for quick cheap jobs) Do your research, check their previous work. Make sure you know he worked on a project similar in the past.

How much does this usually cost?
Custom Bots can be made at any price range, how reliable and how pretty the look will change the price. Keep in mind programmers are not stupid, if they know this works and have worked on it before, they will charge high prices.

Yes, i currently have great experience with custom bots, but your programmer should have an understanding with what he is dealing with, Specifically with Instagram detection.

Will i need to rely on him/her in the future?
Yes, expect to need him in the future.

How long does it take to build one?
Matters how many people are working on it, and how much experience they have with this stuff. For example the programmer i am working with built a custom Scraper + Bot within a week for us(don't expect the same results with freelancers doing more then one job at a time)

How do i protect myself?
Hire someone from big brand websites(guru, freelancer, upwork) located in the United States. Most legit Programming companies will send you a written contract. Make sure everything is very very very detailed i can't stress that enough, your agreement on the freelancer website should be easy to understand and very detailed to your expectations for job completion.
