Hi everyone,

Have posted a similar thread elsewhere on BHW but havn't had much of a response so I thought I would post again... I am wondering if anyone knows of the most popular products bought by students via affiliate programs? I go to uni and am wanting to earn a little bit of $$$$ and plan on initially using flyers to market a product that is in demand from students. There are approximately 20,000 students and I know the areas that get high foot traffic that also have areas to post flyers. I have been searching on G for a couple days but havn't found a reliable source that shows the most popular products for students. I am assuming the products will have to be affordable since most students are already strapped for cash (I know because I am one), and even marketable amongst a student population (if they decide they want to market the product themselves to make money). If anyone can point me to a reliable source that can point me in the right direction, or if anyone is currently having success promoting products to students, please reply to this thread or PM me. I may even sign up to an affiliate program under your referral I.D if it looks promising enough...

I can't promote any products relating to pharmaceuticals, student loans (we have interest free student loans where I'm from :)), adult themed products, hyips/investment schemes, or anything else that would get me referred to the proctor and in trouble. I am from NZ so the product must also be marketable in NZ too. It would be an advantage if the product came with pre-made flyers (I don't really have time to make any myself) but I can use Illustrator/Photoshop to make one for print if need be. Payouts via PayPal is my preferred option, but have heard a lot of bad things on here about them (I have been dealing with them for about 5 years with no problems) so would consider other methods of payment.

Thanks for your time :)

Are you marketing to high school students or to college students?

let me try and help.,

-games
-girls
-gadgets
-living healthy (hippie stuff)
-pranks
-how to stuff,

that would be thing I can think of

How do you plan on marketing to them? They're a tough group.

Find a source for cheap computers/laptops, mp3 players.

Find out what course are populair for that school and see if they require specific software (MS office, photoshop, CAD) and see if you can get it cheap.

Consider this: On your flyer have multiple email or zip submits for getting an IPad2, Plus
a make money or biz op presented as " summer job", throw in a free netfix offer as a way
to get "Zombie" movies FOR THE WEEK END! All on the same 1/4 sheet flyer page! Dude,
get on it now!

Promoting free CPA offers is the best option for you. Mostly students don't spend much online to buy products( Not sure in your country..correct me if I'm wrong). They LOVE freebies and gadgets. There are many email/zip CPA offers for gaming consoles and music gadgets which you can promote using Flyers..

Am at university so university/college students are my target market. I don't think I can advertise dating products though...

@mikmshak: Sound's like a great idea, welcome to BHW :).

@dgfalk: I thought of promoting Adobe products and already have affiliate links via CJ, but they're probably too pricy even with the very generous 80% discount. Besides theres a shop around the corner from the uni selling Adobe CS5 for about $1000 so they would probably already know about that shop...

@KlaAz0r: The pranks one in your list could be very popular :). Do you have any sites or examples that you could point me to that could be potential moneymakers via pranks etc?

@cyberzilla: I was also considering CPA, do you know of any CPA networks that promote these freebies and gadgets?

You can find these offers in pretty much every CPA networks...

Problem with CPA offers for NZ is that there are actually very few offers around that accept NZ traffic.

I reckon you would have success offering a free email CPA biz opp like timbekker.com, which is available though a few networks (I've tried promoting it through Adscendmedia with Twitter traffic and it converted OK) and which accepts NZ traffic. If you put some good presell on the flyer I'm sure lots of cash strapped students would sign up.

There's also stuff like this offer though Pointclicktrack which would be an easy sell (get paid for testing games). I'm not sure if it's actually gambling games or not, so you might have to be careful about Internal Affairs. :)
