I'm a noob and I haven't found one that explains this. Let's say my niche is car subwoofers. I go on expireddomains.net and search car subwoofers. There's carsubwoofersforsale.com with 292 backlinks and Status says $250. Would I buy it, as well as carsubwoofersz.us with 84 BLs?

Try some of these threads for general expired domain info:
    https://www.google.com/webhp?source...site:blackhatworld.com buying expired domains

Number of backlinks is less important than quality. Can easily get like 10k backlinks that are trash or you can have like ten great backlinks. It is hard to make a blanket statement like x backlinks = y dollars.

Also other factors to consider, like whether the domain name is good in general, etc.

If you really want to do your business on an expired domain, thats OK, especially this domain is very good to fit your products.

Though, before you spend your money, check these domains if 100% clean, and you have to do this! If you bought a domain seems good but already penalized by Google, then all your efforts and money goes into a vein.

So lets say carsubwoofersforsale.com and carsubwoofersz.us

    1) go to archive.org and screenshots.com to check both domains, if they got bad pages with Japanese or other language content in the history, then its useless (99% case)

    2) go to ahref.com and majestic.com to check these domains, if they got bad porn/illegal vigar etc bad links/anchors in history, if they do, then useless

    3) careful check each of domains backlinks, is there any good authority backlinks? Or just so-so junk links which can easily get by yourself.

If everything clean, then its consider good to use, but IMO, in the expireddomains.net inventory? Then 90% case it already got spammed.

*sorry, I didnt get above tools now so I cant check it for you.

I got an expired domain with DA and PA 48 and 51 with 350 backlinks and registered it for $4 dollars. Your domain is horrible due it being so, long and nobody can remember those words and type in your site. Keep it to 3 words at the most and please use bulk checker to check your domain and be ready to search for new domains everyday because it took me week to find mine.

Agree with @terrycody. And don't think there is some sort of formula to calculate the value in money. It's more gut feeling and depends on what you do with the domain after you bought it.
