    Hello,

I was wondering what plugin that i should use to remove links that are in my posts... I have a plugin that doesn't remove anchor text, just the link, but I want to remove it all... Without having to edit every single damn post.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Jason And Amanda

It just disables the link, but it doesn't delete the anchor text... Now how do we do that?

Hmmm you can try this plugin
    Code:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-and-replace/
It searches your content for a string and replace the same with other string. Instead of replacing it with other string, just leave it blank and click on go. Not sure if it works but give it a try. I don't find any plugins removing URL as well as anchor at the same time.

We have searched and searched too.. But we are giving the other one a go also.... Thanks

But perhaps removing both of them at once will need to be a custom job... HMMM There's an idea...

Ok, that didn't work at all actually, lol.... We tried it every way possible, and it doesn't recognize it in the bottom of the content.... Heres a pic of the problem now.. after removing the link....

Getting more interesting! LOL Okay let's try some other plugins

Try these two plugins which do the same job-search and replace

    Code:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/find-replace/
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-regex/
Also a couple of blog post which show you how to do that manually. Try this too. Take a backup before doing it manually

    Code:
    http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/how-to-search-and-replace-wordpress-in-blog-post/
    http://wp-dir.com/wordpress-find-and-replace-plugins/

We used the other one! It works just as well, and it does replace symbols and dashes as well, but you must replace with something... so we used a smiley face for starters....

And now this should be a pretty useful thread for some autobloggers, because im sure someone has had this issue before.. Now everyone should thank cyberzilla for all his hard work.... we just did the testing, lol

Oh that great! LOL I'm glad finally it worked! I never expected that you replace that with smiley LOL If that plugin recognize smileys, it may recognize HTML too. Now you can use text to replace as <A HREF="site URL">anchor</A> If it works, we can replace the URL as well as the anchor text in a single shot.
