So i was thinking of starting a little SEO operation for local businesses in my small town. After seeing my competition they don't seem to show results and barely any at that with way high prices. I'm assuming this is all white hat? I was just wondering if most local seo businesses just run white hat or if they have any tier 2-3 black hat involved. After talking to one of them i found out they outsource most work heh.
I checked the link pattern a couple of Months ago of a reasonably well known hotel chain. Didn't get so far as to check who did their SEO but put it this way I found lots and lots of links in places i wouldn't have expected to see them. Probably goes on a hell of a lot more than people realise!
It's extremely common. If your paying less than $500 you can bet they are using black hat. White Hat SEO is VERY EXPENSIVE even if outsourced.
All bigger companies use BH one way or another. They might not use it directly on a clients site, but they will automate the process and making their backlinks stronger.
Think almost all SEO companies use some measure of blackhat - remember than seo = Climbing the SERPS, and that's the opposite of what google want - Legitimately all you can do (in reality) is build a great site, that's it. So anyone that moves on from that is black hat to some degree. Having said that, I've been in seo to some extent for the last 5 years and coming on BHW has opened up a world I never knew about in the slightest! Also out of experience, I have come across very big companies - and ppl working (SEO) for VERY big companies that use blackhat methods, so it does go on.
Prove it! Way too low especially after the games OverStock got caught doing. If a company has a performance bonus for their marketing team and most do, then the majority do some blackhat.
What percent? When prices of blasts and any link building services are so cheap, with low price of such software like scrapebox I am sure that most companies use some sort of blackhat. Also the border between white, black seo is really thin. Remember that google scrape facebook data to include it in the serps (which is against fb rules) and bing was using some serp data of google in their rankings so even such companies are dirty too
Yes i agree, but also are "some" of these smaller seo companies really getting away with charging 300-500+$ monthly to rank local businesses for a local keyword that has no competition and barely any traffic? I have noticed this a lot just from there examples :/ It seems to me giving a promising sales pitch with a "global" analysis some of them are pulling in a lot of simple sales. (Just from my research with a few seo companies in my town) 90% of the time your right every time
Here in Germany, the MOST PROFITABLE internet marketers (3-brothers) who are now in the niche-ecommerce, have hired the BEST German BlackHatter. We are talking here about xxx Millions money in the backend, put just a piece of that is invested in these shops. Their linking structure consists of rebuilding expired domains, or let's say, GET these expired domains in the first way. Actually, that's the job of this BH-Guy they have hired. He has a hacking background and has a way, to grab pretty good domains, where you have to be fastes ( sec's or even ms of time to register a domain ) So, here you see for example the value of good, expired domains. That's BlackHat to the fullest. I'm a little bit jealos of them because, I can't fight back they are on another level. One example of their domains has DMOZ, Wikipedia Links, and hundres of real-article EDU links from .html pages. But there's more, MOST of their backlinks are trash-content on NON-famous Blog Hoster's. So..what do you want more? Other BIG agencies either BUY their links, have their own NETwork, buy domains not ranking good OR even have 10 staff employees, just calling/emailing people for link-exchange.
Well, technically "blackhat" and "whitehat" is b.s. made up by Google, et. al., because any search engine rank manipulation is the same. Goolge just punishes people who don't pay them for ads.
True, but you know what the terms mean. If there's a long queue for a night club you either stand at the back and wait or you go straight to the front and make out your on the guest list
I do think that alot of companies use some form of blackhat nowadays. Blackhat is easy to do and whitehat is normally time consuming and expensive.
Thats just like asking how many items in the world are made by a specific country etc. I would say that the majority of SEO companys use BH techniques. The only ones who dont use BH methods have high paying clients so they can afford to hire full time white hat link builders (Probably in-house) BH tools are just the same as white hat link builders , Its Just they are automated so they can get stuff done faster. Not sure why people think thats bad.
hahaha..if you have NO IDEA then please spend your time learning, instead of filling this thread with sh!t, looks like you're the monkey here Do you REALLY think you get the good domains with these services? You have to have your own domainnabber for this, and need to improve the speed as best as possible. You're here directly connected with the registrar's, not using someone in the middle, like these services you talk about. This is a big profit business, bust just for the one's doing it BEST! As you know, there's no button with "click me, I will make you money " All the rest, is loosing and getting only a few, unimportant domains. It's that hard, that you even have to go after exotic-domain name's to have any valuable success in the beginning. Now, go to sleep for today
