Now this may sound silly but Im nit sure under what niche or catagory my inteded blogs would fit under so I may take a look at competitors etc. maybe you guys can help me out?

First one is a Spanish language blog with a different topic per day on many subjects, sex, personal life, problems at work and general opinions

Second, i want to have a blog so I can vent my anger at things like rubbish customer service, silliness of people etc

Does anyone have any experience in these areas of blogs and maybe can point me to some examples?

    Thanks :)

Well, if you're looking for a few short words to describe the general 'niche' your sites fit under, I'd say the first blog is more along the lines of: Relationships , Home & Family
Your second idea sounds like it could be a review site covering certain businesses and their customer service, etc.

If you're looking for examples as to what one of these sites look like, I would say that's all up to your creativity. Set up a quick Wordpress blog, grab a theme you see fits best to the subject/niche, and start posting articles. You'll be learning along the way. :)

Hope that was the information you were looking for.

    Best,

    Thanks Metra,

Yes I agree with your niche on No1. However, the second is really just an open subject and can be on any topic I see fit be it as mentioned bad customer service, to politicians I have taken a dislike to for that day. That opens another question, can it hurt my blogs progress that Im not keeoing to one topic?

    Thanks again

It depends on what you mean by progress. If your readers know that the blog is meant to be a general (random) blog about your life, that's what they'll expect. If they know it's a more specific blog on, for example, Home & Family, then that's what they'll expect. When blogging try to reach out towards your audience.

If you're talking about hurting your progress SEO wise, etc? Then it wouldn't really hurt you since each of your posts ranks separately; It's still ideal for your posts to be somehow related, though. This is also just my understanding of it since I'm no expert on the subject.

So, in short, try to keep it along the same topic even if it's a very general one -- this is the more 'stable' way to do it for the long run.

You have girlschase dot com. They blog about much of the same I guess, like a general lifestyle blog mainly focusing on self-improvement; sex and relationships.

Both the blogs seem to be your personal blogs. I mean if you want to find competitors, you have to do something specific. If you're going to write your personal opinions about your life, then I don't think it's interesting because you're no Angelina Jolie or a superstar. You should rather focus your first blog on a particular niche such as health, sex, wellness etc. Once you do that then you will have a plethora of competitors. Just my 2 cents.

OP: First one is something like a news portal (even if you have no news).
Second one I'd say is a personal blog where you critizise different things and people like YOU and what you SAY.

    Hope this helps you out.
