I have a video with nearly 50,000 views, hardly any comments and it's barely getting ranked.

I see another video with 7,000 views and maybe 100 comments and it's near the top of the rankings.

Same or less amount of subscribers as me and I don't know about favorites.

Views, for sure. After the amounts of tests I've done, it's all based on views. Those 7,000 views the other video got is probably 80-100% length (the users watched the entire video almost), hence it gets better ranking.

yes, views definitely matter more. but like you just said, y0utube has a new ranking system where the views must be lengthy for good rankings to happen since they are filtering out bot views more and more. with that being said, legitimate views and real subscribers are very important now. spam videos are much harder to rank now, so you need to be a little bit more white / gray hat these days and have quality content if you want to end up ranking well. the game is changing towards quality over quantity my friends and you need to adapt to the rules :)

I have a real channel with music videos, all original and I'm trying to get it legitimately ranked higher but I get most of my views from YTNuke
