For me, obviously I don't believe spamming IG, FB YT, Twitter or any social network can be a logical long term strategy and after spending few years in this industry, one starts to look for something stable. Now ruling websites out of this discussion. What are your thoughts?

For me I guess, Apps, ebooks and proper legal dropshipping.

Would love to hear your opinion. (except Sherb and Ste's)

Dropshipping or legitimate whitehat blogs / websites / news sites.

What do you mean by long term? You must be ready to change and adapt at all times because what you think might be stable can change. I mean blacksmithing and shoeing horses was a perfectly viable long term strategy to make money for like 5000 years. And dropshipping in the long term is iffy because the trend is always to cut out the middleman between the producer and the end user.

Starting a business, not a method. Take social media for example. Instead of pushing affiliate products, local businesses owners will pay you to do that for them as a social media consultant.
Affiliate stuff comes and goes. Best long term strategy imo is create your own product. Don't sell someone elses thing.

    Here goes nothing:

    • Starting a business. A proper one.
    • Online Reputation Management
    • eBooks
    • Developing, patenting, selling products
      • Yeah, I know. Not really IM. But still quite good, if you know how to solve a problem
      • Goes hand in hand with starting a business. Just be sure your product is really good, and that you have enough customers and capital to manufacture it for profit.

Something that doesn't rely on a third party too heavily. You can make a killing with affiliate marketing but if that programme goes away so does your income. You can diversify and run lots of offers etc but the only stable income comes from offering and selling your own products and services.

That's the difference between methods and business plans.

Want something long term? Learn a skill other than using massplanner and followliker, learn something of value.

For me, IM was way to unstable and I can't speak on behalf of @Sherbert Hoover obviously but I've now resorted to selling drugs and prostitution to keep a roof above my head.

There was nothing else I could do, I guess I was just not cut out to make it in IM.

I started in IM, went to "real" business, and now I'm back in IM.

The world has TOTALLY changed. You guys here think that a "business" is more stable but it's simply a case of the grass being greener on the other side. There are no stable businesses anymore (except buying property for long term investments). You can get phased out of business so fast these days.

Tastes change so fast these days because of technology (Trends via social media, etc).

No business is stable these days. Those days are over. Anyone who says different is out of touch.
