Hey there I'm going to try to make this as simplistic as possible:

I am creating a site that does a specific search according to the parameters placed by the user. They will have three options of how to search, but in reality these operators have a mere aesthetic value.

    Simple MS Paint drawing:

I need to know how to create that text box, a scrollable choice for the search parameter, and how to do the following with their search:

I will have a url which will need to be split, have the searched text placed in a certain location, and then merged back into one url.

    ex.
    Searched text = 12345
    http://somesite.com/blah/keyword=/newsearch/
This url would be changed into:
    http://somesite.com/blah/keyword=12345/newsearch/

Which could then be output in a manner of a link on the next page.

Thanks and if you are confused, I'll do my best to try to convey my meaning.

are you trying to actually search the web or just to generate new link from user's input?

The output on the next page will be about 8 links with appended urls.

Okay, to throw another curveball in the mix.

Could it still be accomplished by those two to scrape data from the url and place it in the following layout:

    *Picture
    *Title
    *Price

Yes it can but that's pretty high end:

    php.net/manual/en/book.curl.php
