What kind of employees are needed to run a site like Pinterest?

How they make money from no generated revenue I dont know and pay their employees?

And how do they host all the content?

revenue is generated from the information site/company manage to gather from their users while they create the accounts and their patterns ... hosting this days is easy and cheapt , until you reach some serious milestones anyone can host their sites most of the time pretty cheap ... when userbase starts to grow exponentially then ... company and tech department usually have to come up with ways to make things much more easy ( hosting in house the servers , managing the network distributing the content thru dedicated/semi-dedicated content delivery networks .... ) . Hard part with such type of venues ( social netowrk style sites / user generated content style ) it's initial ignition for the userbase , then things must just keep up , that's all .

Startups will generally use their own seed funding to start with.
Once they have a tangible platform, they can then try to get capital from angel investors or venture capitalists by handing over a part of the company.

With this money you'll be able to hire programmers, software engineers, Android & iOS developers, community managers, executive directors etc.

You would really need to have something unique in your hands to stand a chance of getting ANY capital, not to mention the connections needed to set the meetings in the first place.
If you plan to make the "next Pinterest' you stand no chance.
