I have been looking through the forum and I started to get buried with all the topics and reply's so I'm wondering if I can get some direction from you guys.

I have been using Scrapebox and tube toolbox from my home pc. I just moved to a new place and I have the best internet in the area, but it's nothing like my old place for speed.

    I live in the US.

    My question:

I want to host my tools so they have they can run faster.

Do I need a VPS? Dedicated Server? Windows Server?

    My goal:

Essentially log into a server that looks like my desktop for navigation, so I'm assuming a windows server, install the software and be able to access is from any computer.

What do you guys recommend? I've heard that there are good services in the BST section so please link to any that come to mind.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
i don't want to open new thread since it's related to this.

    1. I wanna use hosting as a fast and automatic downloader and uploader from and to fileshare and youtube.
Right now i have shared hosting.
I know there's a script phpuploader but i'm not sure if it can be installed on shared hosting. Is there any way to use something on share hosting?

    2. i'll probably need to make a lot of youtube videos on server. I'll probably need VPS for that, right?

    3. if I buy ubuntu VPS it's all same like I'm using my computer only it's far far away and much better internet speed?

    tnx

    Ok tnx,
why do u think centos is better than ubuntu, and why not use some free panel like Kloxo?
isn't free cPanel already included in price?

VPS with Centos. Its a fork of a very decent distro and is pretty much standard now.

cPanel itself is not free, so alot of times for VPS/Dedicated servers you have to pay a monthly license fee (~$10-$25). A free panel is a possibility, but the ones I've used don't match cPanels ease of use and feature set. WHM is also a very nice addition to cPanel for VPS/Dedicated. It's not offered on shared, but for vps/dedicated it will allow you to control practically anything on the server (email/ssh/security/firewall/restarts and more)

Also, if you want to get something that you can easily use (if your not very techy) you will want to get a Windows server. Scrapebox does not look to support centos, ubuntu or any other OSes other than Windows.
