So I have this pain in my shoulder muscle that burns and feels sore when im at work or using it alot. Also I have pain in my spine because I do alot of manual labor at work and its just starting to hurt. The shoulder pain has been there for years.

I have seen a chiropractor but he didnt do anything that has helped.

What kind of doctor should I make an appointment with that will help?

depends. go see your primary doctor and he'll refer you to either a
    Physiatrist

    orthopedist

    rheumatologist

or physical therapist depending on what your doc feels is the underlying cause.

I'm not a doctor, my wife has gone through similar

Dude, go find a medical yoga practitioner. They'll fix you up. Second to that, any competent and experienced yoga instructor. Also if you go find a competent massage therapist, you'll be doing better as soon as you walk out of there.

The medical yoga practitioner will correct whatever the problem is though.

A quack, so he will give you good drugs. I have had back problems for 20 years, finally after 16 years I decided to get back surgery. Big mistake, it made it worse. Never have back surgery if you can at all help it. They mostly make things worse. Just find some good drugs that will help you get through the pain and get set for the rest of your life, cuz this is how it will be from now on.

    Check out bowtech dot com
A friend told me about this a few month ago, he also had problems with one of his shoulders and now he says he's fine.
My mother felt pain in her right knee after walking or standing for more then a few minutes and now, after like 10 bowtech sessions (hours) she can go for days without feeling any pain.
My step-father is currently going to a bowtech assistant for his back problems and he's feeling increasingly better every day.

Definitely something that worth checking out !

I thought this question was funny considering how many people on this site have micro niche sites about back pain.

Go to your primary physician and he/she can refer you to a specialist

Primary physician (Internal medicine usually) > specialist.

I've seen physical therapists do miracles in a couple of weeks for some people.

You may have something going on with your spine. I hope not, but if that is the case, the doctor usually gives you pain killers and steroids. After awhile, it's is on to surgery.

    Does resting help at all?

My best thoughts are with you.

Man go to a good strength and conditioning coach. Physio and chiro aint gonna do shit as they arnt aggressive enough with the strengthening. They rely on too many modalities that dont work.
From what you told me your posture probably sucks. YOu need to stretch your chest and strenghthen your rotator cuff, rhomoboids and lower traps. That will fix you for sure.
