I know backlinking quite well, but I also know all backlinking is blackhat. What kind of strats do you guys use for businesses you land contracts with? I'm hesitant to build web 2.0 properties with spun articles and such, also hesitant to use scrapebox or AMR at all. Am i just being paranoid?

Look on BHW for "SEO footprints" PDF...gives search terms to find places to comment, etc.

get backlink packets from Paulie Ciara (I get them emailed every Monday) Free!!

Use Firefox plug-in SEOquake as this will help you analyze sites quickly.

Depending on your site, start out with only your main keyword phrase and main page.

    Have 100% unique content.

If you are using WP install SEPprofessor plugin(found here) . This will help you get maximum on page seo.

I always build high quality articles, web 2.0 pages, and press releases as the first set of inbound links then you can start getting a little more grey hat when linking to those properties. Social bookmarking clouds are effective.

Also try to get some high pr in content links from reputable sources. Submit their site to all the local businesses directories available. Then of course the high pr blog comment backlinks and .edu links. Linkpushes also help the results stick. Just create a system that provides a steady link velocity to their site.
