What is your research process for choosing to invest in a new altcoin ?

I always go through rugpull basics, check token allocation (any huge wallets waiting to dump?),then check honeypot scanners for contract functions (Mint? Blacklist? StopTrade? Etc.. etc..) then finally I check if the liquidity is sufficient and locked.

these are just some general things you should go through, additionally check if the community is active and grown organically (no bots or bought followers).

Which are some coins that passed these tests recently ?

Checking if community isnt botted, along with basic contract functions. There’s also a couple honeypot scanners you can use to help you along with navigating through functions. It’s all a gamble though.
