Since the first time I tried typing, as a kid, I have always had this problem. If it's just to type a few words, or a 200 word paragraph every few hours, then my typing speed is usually 60wpm.

But see, if I was to start typing, and continue for a while, my hands quickly get tired. The first 5 minutes, I'd be typing at 60wpm, then my muscles would start to pain, and then I'd slow down to 50wpm. After 10 minutes, I can't move my fingers. I'd have to rest my hands for 30 minutes before starting up again.

I've watched other people, and they don't have this problem. they can type at their 80 to 100wpm for HOURS AND HOURS with no breaks. I don't understand. I sit upright, back straight, arm's length away from keyboard, palms never touching the surface.

I used to have same problem for years till last week when my doctor told me solution for this. It is due to weak blood circulation in fingers and wrist. You need to hold mouse like you are holding a bottle with its cap. your finger need to be in upright position on mouse buttons.

after following above remedy, my hands stopped paining

Sounds like RSI (repetitive strain injury). I use an ergonomic keyboard to reduce strain when typing. You need to take a lot of breaks too.

Carpal tunnel. I have it and was once a copywriter doing 5-10k words per day. I can't type for shit now, anything more than 2k words and my hands are ruined. Glad I moved into SEO ;)

Did you have an injury at an early age? I had huge injuries to my hands because of basketball, and I'm the same now. Doctors have said I need an operation to straighten my fingers. Or it could be the more common RSI - try massaging your hands with coconut butter, really helps dude!
