This guy has a voting plugin that has out of this world potential for creating review sites or similar things but I can't seem to find it! I'm a new guy on the forum but it's on
    www-deanhunt-com/make-money-online

It's like voting for your favorite blog but it could be used so much better. I can't find this plugin as it might have been custom built, but if anyone can find this easy on the eyes voting gimmick please help me!

Thanks for the help... I was able to find out that info but even if you download every file listed I can't seem to get the plugin to work on my blog, or even discover where to download it (to install it correctly). The closest thing I can find is vote-it-up which doesn't come close to replicating the clean interface Dean (cough Alex) has.

Does anyone know where to download this exact plugin? Or how to buy it / reverse engineer it / anything? To me this is like staring at something in a store window and not being able to buy it or do a d*mn thing about it.

    Frustrated Noob,
    Jason

It could be a custom plugin. Why not contact "Dean" and ask him?

I tried that first. No reply so far, but when you make an incredible plugin like that who can blame him? I would pay $$$ for that plugin. All I know is that it is indeed custom plugin and it is keeping me awake at night just thinking about it. If a starving programmer is out there listening please grab all the files from that program you can, reverse engineer the missing pieces it to work exactly like the same and I not only will pay you, but perhaps make your wildest dreams come true. (Shameless Naploeon Dynamite Movie Reference.)

In fact, I signed up for Dean's list, followed him on Twitter, asked to be Facebook friend. Man I would do damn near anything for this Wordpress Plugin. Do I sound desperate enough yet? Help me Dean!

Here is the programmer and the bid he did for it on RAC. Hope this helps BTW Deans a waste of digital time.

    Name: Peter Govind Jr
    WordPress Votes Plugin
    Request for Proposals

We need a WordPress (WP) plugin that allows us to create a WP post with a special kind of voting system. This is the type of voting system we want...

    http://wired.reddit.com/lara_croft/

You may use whatever you see best to make this plugin work e.g. php, java script, ajax etc.

We are looking for bids between $50 and $150.

    Features Needed

    • Easy to install. Ideally just upload, activate and use. (If permissions need setting can we do this as part of the activation process?)

    • Must work with the current version of WP (v2.71) and preferably with all 2.x versions.

    • When we create a new WP post the option will be available to "create a vote post". This will be pretty much a normal WP post but with the vote system inserted (i.e. things like comments etc. will still be functional on the post)

    • There should be an option to enclose the vote post in an iFrame (like in the example) or to have the whole thing displayed directly on the page i.e. no frame

    • The width of the votes content displayed should be 450px wide in total.

    • When we create a vote post we will be able to add as many different number of things to vote on i.e. a "add another vote option" button.

    • For each vote option, we'd like the choice to add an image, headline and text blurb. We will be able to add links in the text blurb.

    • If no image is added to the vote option then the text blurb fills the space.

    • There should also be a function to allow admin to add, edit or remove vote options.

    • We'd like the images to be resized automatically when uploaded using PHP GD (NOT scaled, RESIZED). We like them resized to 200px wide and the height to be the size to keep it in proportion to the original picture. (I understand this may need to set some permissions etc)

    • We'd also like the option, that if GD is not activated on the server, that plugin then, and only then, scales the image to 200px using html code. GD with actual resizing should be the default though.

    • The votes should have a simple "up" arrow for a positive vote and a "down" arrow for a negative vote.

    • Each positive vote adds 1 point next to the up arrow. Each negative vote adds 1 point to the negative arrow.

    • When the page is accessed again it automatically refreshes to show the new updated ranking order.

    • The top of the ranking order is the vote option with the highest ratio of positive to negative votes. If the ratio is the same, then the number of positive votes is the secondary ranking factor.

    • (This isn't a feature on the example link) Show the ranking number i.e. the highest ranking vote option shown first, with "Ranked 1" on the left hand side, the second "Ranked 2", and so on. (See screen shot below)

    • (This isn't a feature on the example link) Show the rank ratio i.e. "Rank Ratio" i.e. positive votes divide by negative votes to give a + or - score to two decimal places (See screen shot below)

    • When a user votes the arrow goes from a lighter colour to a darker one (see the example link) to indicate that a vote has been made.

    • Users can change their vote, if they voted up and changed to down, 1 point would be taken off "up" and given to "down" instead.

    • Users should only be able to place one vote per vote option.

Here's a screen shot of what a vote post should look like (not the rank number and ratio)...

    Hi guys,

    Dean Hunt here...

I am not Alex, not sure where you got that from, but quite amusing.

Ref the plugin, yes, as you can see, it was custom made from an idea I had.

However, it is littered with errors and bugs at the moment, hence why I haven't been replying to email requests for it etc...

If you can give me 10-14 days to work on all the bugs, plus, we have a list of additions and extras to add to it, I will happily share it with all of you on here.

    All the best.

    Dean

I got it from a report written by "Alex Goad" called Players With Money - Buzz Marketing. On page 20, "Alex Goad" writes:

I also saw a video (from Players with Money, if I remember correctly), in which "Alex Goad" states that he has a buzz marketing consulting business under the alias "Dean Hunt".

I'm tempted to believe this "deanhunt" since I received an email stating more or less the same thing from a different source. I will keep the forum updated on this subject and if this does turns out to be true...awesome... if it doesn't...then well cripes I'll still get it one way or another because I'm resourceful and this forum is awesome. Thanks for everyone for everything so far. :)

I contributed a report to Players with Money, he must have mis-typed that...

As for the latter, either it was a joke, or you are lying... there are plenty of pictures and videos of both myself and Alex. And if you want absolute proof, I will be at an event in London later this month where both myself and Alex will be there... I will bring my passport if you want ;-)

    Again, thanks for the amusement.

    Dean

Fair enough. Odd that he didn't give you credit, though. The report said "by Alex Goad" on every page and was written in the first person.

I was neither joking nor lying. Note that I said "if I remember correctly". Apparently, I did not remember correctly, and I apologize. Glad to see you're amused and not angry.

I don't care whether people are Alex, Dean, or named Mary freakin Poppins this plugin has the potential to be a "killer" app and I'm thrilled just to "know" people who "know" people who are helpful and generous! Hurray to the Blackhat Forum and to everyone that tries to help out the little guys. You guys all rock! Thanks! And if I can help someone in any way send me a private message and discover the power of abundance.

I will certainly raise these points with Alex in person in the coming weeks... very disturbing if he has done that... in the sales page he listed it as coming from me.

Anyway, as mentioned, doesn't really make any difference, and was irrelevant tbh.

We are working on fixing the bucket load of bugs and errors, will let you know when sorted.

Looks like they are still testing the plugin but the results are getting better and better. Oh...I'm burning for this thing. Everyone who owns a blog should check it out in action.
