Okay, kinda funny question, but I guess this goes to WH. So, I've been now working as article writer (or maybe translator would be better title) for this one niche blog for three of months or so. The niche revolves around certain recent technical invention. I'm paid monthly for writing and submitting the articles to WP site - no SEO or anything done from my behalf. Just recently I've been starting to wonder "What is this guy up to?". I mean, the language used (and thus the audience aimed for) belongs to a country of like 6 million inhabitants, nor can I really figure out anything that could really be advertised with the said niche (ebook about physics? lol...). SEOT is like 10, and currently the site wanders between #2 and #3 - Wikipedia article being #1 on Google. PR2 for the blog. As a newbie to IM I might be overlooking something (building this as high PR blog and then using as backlink to your other sites? wouldn't it just be easier to buy the links? I mean - I'm not that cheap to work with ), but to me such small target audience with no apparent peaking in sight with no advertising/product just seems kinda pointless... Asking on BHW since I don't want to kill the milking cow - so to speak.
well the guy must be making some cake, or he wouldnt be paying u, right? hehe dont know , just thinking =) or he likes just to keep new stuff about his topic.
Well, obviously - but it sure as hell ain't coming from this site. As I wrote, there's no advertising whatsoever, nor does any of the articles contain any product placement or promotion. There is simply nothing that can create revenue. I'd guess it would be okay to place AdSense or something after three months, right? And that's just te reason that makes me curious, since nothing has really happened monetization wise, so what's the whole point in this website?
He might be opening an amazon affiliate link in an almost invisible frame. That way everyone going to his site counts as a referral for the next 24 hours if they purchase anything through amazon. That's something I thought about doing on one of my high traffic - low conversion sites.
