So what is the trick to crack those protected .exe ebooks that requires a user name and password?

To MILITARYiV:

To answer your question, "what is the trick to crack those protected .exe ebooks that requires a user name and password?"

Answer: You might try a Brute-Force password cracking program (Uses a dictionary and keeps trying different combinations until it hits the right password).

- OR -

You could use a Hex Editor which is used to change hexidecimal values., but you have to know what you are looking for.

- OR -

You could use Visual Basic to decompile it, but only if it was created in Visual Basic (It might have been created in C++.)

- OR -

You do an online search for a crack for it.

- OR -

You buy it.

You can use SoftIce or W32Dasm and there are lots of tutorials online for usage.
These two debuggers are expensive thou.

lol if you plan on buying them yes they are, otherwise i would say my 30seconds of time doesn't cost all that much =]

but honestly i would look for a pass first before starting to crack it as it isnt that easy to do and chances are if you want it cracked someone else does to, and that ushly means its already been done

i saw on the other forum that using normal software to crack EXE books..it might take more than Million years...lol...i am not sure is it true or not...i guess the BEST way is to BUY that book... :) Faster and Hassle FREE!

well these are the new ebooks .exe fliles that does not have a specific password attached to them..

My friend, easy and difficult are relative terms. What's difficult for me may be easy for you and what's difficult for you may be easy for me. I don't want to brag here but some 11 years ago I had cracked a $3500 software using W32Dasm in 3 minutes, I didn't go about finding the pass but simply bypassed the password check by patching the code at the assembler level. Well of course I knew assembly language. So knowledge is power which can make things easy and btw I did it with a fully functional trial version of W32Dasm, didn't buy it. And your 30seconds time cost is an over exaggeration, be more practical than poetic :-)

I really want the answer to this question. I am trying to crack an ebook now

For an 8 character alpha-numeric password there is 55 Trillion possible combination's, most crackers work at around 10 Million per second so it would take 2 months.

I picked up a pretty high end one ($13,000) that's scalable over 10,000 workstations, and is supposed to have a guaranteed .zip recovery of under 1 hour.

Can you plz share with us the name of the $13,000 software?, I am really interested in finding out about this software, you can pm me the software name, if you dont want the public to know it..

Sure i will post it here, it's $12,999 see the business edition price on the right:

Code:
http://www.elcomsoft.com/eprb.html

You can scale it over 10,000 workstations, it also has patented GPU acceleration and is a government/corporate tool. It supposed to be the fastest available.

I haven't tried to scale it over multiple machines yet, but i will one day and see how it goes it should work quick on 2xCore2Duo machines with 8GB RAM.
