    My order of importance;
    1) TF
    2) the ratio between TF and CF
    3) DA
    4) type of links (eg; news sites are great, blog comments are not)
    5) quantity of referring domains

In choosing dropped domains. Getting a meaningful domain is rare. Even though you can try to get the domains in a name which your product and service is related.

Make sure the domain is having the info.
Check the Trust flow, Back links count and from which sites.
DA need to be high according to PA.

Majestic SEO tool will hep you to find all these information.

I have experience only with dropped domains, and I can tell you not to care about any metric. Check only the quality of backlinks, and secondarily, the number of them. Age doesn't matter as they are dropped domains, PA/DA are useless, TF/CF are somewhat decent indicators, but still Majestic often misses some backlinks. Obviously, if you find a domain with DA and PA 1, TF and CF 0, it's likely a domain with no backlinks, so don't even bother checking them. And obviously, it is taken for granted that you check archive.org before even analyzing the backlinks. Check for example this domain:

    Code:
    commentanywhere.com
    DA-12 PA-24 TF-1 CF-5

It should be a shady domain given the enormous difference between DA and PA, TF and CF. But it's clean when I check archive.org and it has links from mashable.com (PR8!) and allfacebook.com (PR6), along with others. I wouldn't switch those two links with 1000 common links, or for an higher PA/DA/TF/CF. (It's free to register by the way, first comes first serves)

I guess with expired domains the process is the same, the only difference is that the age factor is added, but still, I would prefer one link from bbc.co.uk rather than 10 years of age ;)

Link profile and make sure is not penalized. If it has spammy links or has been penalized in the past, you are building your site on a shady foundation.

If it makes good links, regardless of what the metrics say, go for it.

Age is the least important factor, if the domain has been deindexed in the meantime, google considers the date the website has been reindexed as the new starting age. So a 9 year old domain that has never been used or indexed in google does not add much value if you start building on it. Where as a 2 year old domain, that has always been and remained indexed in google during this time, you can do plenty of aggressive stuff on it and rely on the age to help you avoid penalties.

    First things first :

    1. Choosing domain name for your blog :- This will be the identity, So this needs to be either keyword domain or niche relevant. Not like xxxyyy.com or zzzfff.org or rrrtttf.com.

    2. People choose expired domain for following reasons

    - Page rank.
    - Authority.
    - Citation flow & trust flow.
    - Aged domain.
    - Backlink profile.
    - Google Indexed

If you got expired domain with all the above features or few which i mentioned -- > Perfect Domain
If you got expired domain without any of the above is -- > crap domain

2-i searched daily around 3 days ago for expired powerful domain and did't got that good 1 , i mean if i see 1-3 PR and BA good the other metrics were bad !

You have already put some good points there.

Just make sure, you check the history of the domain though archive.org.

I guess quantity of backlinks are more important and quality in case of dropped domains. but ofcourse they should not be flagged

    1. As i mentioned in my earlier post, Both Trust flow and citation flow are important, Lets say the ratio of CF & TF - 30 would be good for any sites. ex:- if the website has high trust flow but, low citation flow then it has links from trust worthy sites. If the site has high citation flow but, low trust flow then the site has more links with low trust worthy site.

    2. yeah, its really hard to find the sites with all the metrics. So, you can't find it in a day, you should have to search or otherwise get the domain from PBN service providers.

    3. Yes, there're few out there, You can review their itrader, reviews on their BST's, etc before ordering their service.
