when i browse on seo forums, i always see this word 'churn & burn', what does it mean?
It means doing blackhat things ( or things that are not really allowed by the concerned sites T&C's ) which will get your account banned sooner or later.
Scenario : Pay 20c / acocunt to have 1000's created . Make 30c / account before you get banned. Rinse, repeat
Churn and burn is a technique/ method used to rank a webpage in short time for a short-long time period.
All you have to do is Build as many backlinks as you can without any quality filter.
Along with other replies, would like to add an example -
In affiliate marketing, if you drive traffic to an LP (mostly direct link to vendor page) and make some quick cash that is churn and burn. In contrast, If you drive traffic to your own LP say an optin page, you collect leads and can use those leads as many times as you want and promote more products and make more money.
The term generally means to do something that maximizes profits in short term at the cost of not being able to do it long term because the method will eventually get you banned from using that method.
For example, putting a lot of money through Paypal for pyramid scams knowing that you'll get that account banned is churning and burning that account.
The terms are derived from the English word urn.
That is an urn and it's used to hold the ashes of a perished loved one. I'm not sure why anybody would add a ch or a b in front of that word though. Perhaps some of the other members on here can illuminate us.
Most businesses or campaigns will churn and keep, but there are some people who will churn it and then burn it. They let it burn because they know it's going to get burn eventually, so they do churn and burn, mostly just for testing something out. Churn and burn sites usually are low quality sites, most of them don't use logos, they just churn and burn to make quick money.
Separate names with a comma.
