    Hey guys,

What do you reckon is the hottest gadget for 2010?

Some might say the Apple iPad, but is there anything else that stands out? Any cool new types of computers/phones/cars?

    Discuss.

Thread hijack cadkins? I would have to say the ipad. No one but apple themselves can beat the press and coverage that they got.

OK then I'll put it here... no biggie.....

SkagenWeb had posted this topic about trending topics and items for 2010 and beyond and I started writing him back and realized... "ya know I bet the BHW guys/girls would want to take a read as well and get their upcoming trending domains purchased and begin SEO'ing for the future.... so I just copy and pasted my response into an entirely new thread and just put the link to it instead until Strangefruit said I was hijacking so now I am here moving it back. Enjoy....

    • Well the one product that stands out in my mind, although probably for 2011 or 2012 before they figure it out is that samsung introduced a "non-glasses" 3D system at CES this year it was a 50" monitor that was pretty freaking bomb. The thing is that it only showed animation right now because no cameras were out there recording live for a "glasses-less" system so they had to generate everything via animation. They have them for commercial use to place 3D logos and short animated clips but am sure the camera tech is coming shortly and then live, no glasses, 3D TV's should be coming soon. They probably won't be as "shocking" of 3D as the glasses systems are just because of how stereoptics work, but they can still be a pretty damn hot product. The 50" Samsung unit was for commercial use and was custom made for clients at a cost of $30,000 - $50,000.

    • Then I have seen a huge increase in "Education Apps" for mobile and iPad, mainly textbook deals with McGraw Hill and Apple and I have also seen a lot of Apps geared towards professional study. I have seen a trend in doing the Real Estate Exam study guides on mobile and iPad, the Series 7 stockbroker exam study guides are available via apps. I assume universities will move some texts available to mobile units soon as well.

    • The Ion Twin Vid is cool, it is a split screen front/rear video camera so you can capture your reaction and the front content while you are recording for a Vlog so you dont have to keep turning the camera back and forth from your face tot he subject matter. Cool little diddy.

    • Skype going HD for home TV video conferencing should be here shortly. that will be cool

    • TONS of new tablets will be out to battle the iPad here in the second half of the year, and also the
    • 3D PROJECTOR systems will be storming out to make 3D in your home up to 152 inches with super good quality.

Hope that gives you some ideas as far as Tech.

For cars some models you will want to look at are:

    • Mercedes Benz SLS - AMG
    • Chevy Volt
    • Scion iQ
    • Honda CR-Z
    • Chevy Spark
    • Aston Martin Rapide
    • Audi A7
As far as phone stuff you probably want to

    • lean hard on Wireless Charging Technology like Pure Energy Solutions
    • Look at Sonim indestructable Quest 3.2 phone, it's awesome.
    • The new Androids are coming
    • One awesome product is this damn YoGen thing... It's a Yo-Yo battery charger, so basically you pull the string up and down a few times and it creates enough charge to keep your phone running for like 5 minutes in an emergency. they have adapters for iPhone and Blackberry so far.
    • ZoomSafer is a cool product to market to parents who have kids with cell phones, it's an App you can put on your kids phone that disables the keyboard if it senses you moving over 10MPH, therefore preventing texting while driving... or sprinting in the 100M dash, LOL.
    • Nio is a Bluetooth security tag that links to any of your belongings. If your laptop, phone, keys, or even child move out of range, an alarm sounds. So that is a cool little bluetooth security tool.

Also all of the energy saving stuff from Home Energy systems that auto shut on and off all home power, the solar chargers for everything those are all popular right now.

OK and for my biggest ever...don't miss the boat... you'll be thrown in snake water if you miss it...blackhat exclusive... top secret Cadkins rules trend for the next 1-5 years is.... drumrolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

    IPTV

Yes that is correct, almost every single TV will be an internet based TV and youtube, hulu, netflix, blockbuster will go ALL-HD, and even 3D for a high percentage of their online content. This will augment the market quite a bit but right now the biggest issue with going full IPTV nationwide is bandwidth issues. As soon as that's solved and people are ready to pay... things are gonna get crazy for IPTV!

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

3D television / Apple iPad (mostly just due to the marketing hype, but still a cool toy)
