    Hi,

As the title says, What is the easiest type of membership site to start with ?

I am unsure if I should focus on a niche first or think about what type of membership I will go into before selecting the niche.

As for type, I mean for example, ecommerce or forum or sell services I can provide and/or outsource, etc.

If you know of good threads related to what I am asking please do share I will be looking forward to your advices.

The easiest in my honest opinion is autoresponder memberships.

You get people onto your Aweber list and charge them monthly for exclusive content.

    Blackhat_Boy,

Thanks for the response, could you give me a bit more details on how it would work, I am afraid I havent fully understand it.

Are you saying I would do something like have some content open and the rest closed to members that subscribe/have their accounts and when new content kicks in I would mail everyone with news etc ?

A membership site that discusses hard to find information that will make someone's life better.

You would charge them one time (or monthly) for valuable content that you email to them on a regular basis. (could include videos, or pdf attachments) After they pay you, you subscribe them to your aweber autoresponder, and it sends out the content automatically. (once a week, once a month, or whatever)

I would go with weight loss alerts and if they sign up they can receive a special ebook
    loaded with affiliate links. ;)

    Thanks that was helpful.

What about having the content on the website behind a username and password and perhaps use affiliates and adsense too ? I mean, would it be bad to make it as a membership on site ? The aweber could be opted in when they register to the website so you still get their mail for further use on w/e.

If you'd like assistance setting up a membership site let me know. Through my experience, a simple WordPress membership site is ridiculously easy to create. While there are incredible paid options (my favorite is DAP), there also are plenty of free options that will do the trick. While I agree, an autoresponder is the absolute simplest form of a membership "site", you are leaving the "site" aspect out the picture. People see value in being able to log on browse a "physical" site instead of having to search their inbox for the content they're looking for. Either way, recurring revenue is key. Always remember that.

Subscription websites with monthly fees and opt-in lists. This is all you need to get your focus at.

Hi I'm new here and I'm planning to build an Internet Addiction related blog, so that this topic is very interesting to me.

So you suggest to create a paid newsletter (maybe via Aweber) or a paywall so that members are able to login to a restricted area?

How about something like pay per article solution?

    TNX!

Hi and thanks for the post. I would definitely like some guidance on setting one up. also do you know how to do a "BACK OFFICE"? I have seen them in some MLM's and I would love to learn that. I am trying to learn Joomla and I heard that it is ready for membership. Is that true? I also have a wp blog in my niche, so I would like that info please. And thank you for your time :)

Joomla is already a membership site. You just need to add content and set some of them to registered state so that if they want to read your content, they have to sign up and login.

IMO, the easiest membership site would be e-learning. You teach them what you know, you charge them on a monthly basis. I'm doing one myself. Not very easy in making the content but at least the platform is ready.

Like a subscription ecourse of sorts.

There was a newsletter I was subscribed to a few years ago. I only received it via email and it was once per month. It was a detailed blueprint of business models. There was an archive of all the models online but that was it. No forum type of thing. The newsletter is no longer in service and I remember wanting to copy that...purchased a domain and everything. Hmmm...maybe it's time for me to reconsider this idea.
