the keywords is important in seo, but i am a little confused that what is the real keywords.
    the title of the article?
    the description in meta?
    the text used in backlinks?
or the words repeated in the content?
as i tried to build my website, the title of the article does not be a keywords in google, but the title of my index page does be a keywords in google, and the description seams useless, is that right?
hope someone can help me solve the problem.
what i exact mean is what is the keywords that can be showed on search engine, like google, usually, the title of index can be searched on google, but i am not sure whether the title of article or description can be keywords displayed on google, and are these important in seo?

    Great source of information.

    P.S. Replace [dot] with a "."

A keyword is the phrase you want people to type in in order to find your site. For example, if your site was on blue widgets (probably the most common example here) then an example keyword would be "Buy blue widgets".

As for the rest of your questions, yes, the keyword can be included in everything you asked.

    For example,
Title of Article: How to Buy Blue Widgets
Description in meta: Buy Blue Widgets (include whatever else phrase you want)
Text used in back-links: The keyword "buy blue widgets" would be included and linked to your site.
Words repeated in content: The number words divided by the times the phrase "Buy blue widgets" appear would be "keyword density".

you have to use keywords with low competition and high search query. That's the point
ofcourse kw's points to your content.

write first 3 kw in your mind then strike off. now keep writing

The answer correctly to this question is:

The words/phrase that people punch in when they search for something in Google

It's all that matters in SEO.

Do you know people often type "allergy treatment", not "treatment to allergy"?

Try to compare the search volume between those two keywords and you will see the difference.

When it comes to searching online, we spend as minimum effort as possible and when you don't find what you are looking for, you perform more searches with longer words/phrases until you find what you want. That's what SEO experts often call 'long tail keywords', keywords that are highly refined and often show exactly the intention of searchers. Those keywords convert best because when you put so much effort in typing long tail keywords, you have a deep desire to perform an action.

So, a keyword is word/phrase people use to search for what they are looking for. As marketer or webmaster who is optimizing site, you shouldn't guess on which keywords visitors use to reach your site. You should use tools like Google keyword tool to find exactly which word/phrase people will search in your niche and optimize them.
