VB6 and C++ are programming languages... meaning you actually need to know how to program well to use them well and it takes years to develop these skills. Using VB6 or C++ for the simple tasks that iMacros can achieve is also not every smart because it will take you 10x more time to do a simple task with a low level language like C++ than it will with iMacros.

Just learn one piece of software first; don't be a jack of all trades, be a master of one.

I tried Imacros and Ubot. For me Ubot works best as with it i can use add proxy, multithread and many more features which is required in a bot for IM.

i experimented a lot with web automation and it turned out that there is no really good solution. i tried selenium (not able to save specific images), i tried htmlunit (a lot of javascript parsing issues) and now i'm trying to embed the gecko rendering engine into a C++ application since it provides a really good API to use.

by i still havent found a solution that works cross plattform and without an xserver (linux) installed or a GUI interface. to scale web automation its best not to have a graphical frontend but still all elements of a site will be downloaded and interpreted correctly (flash also). i'm a fan of shell/CLI based linux servers - wouldnt it be nice to have a web automation software that runs as a daemon and can be scaled without any issues?

its a hard and long game here. simple http-clients such as HtmlClient for java or curl dont do everything i want (no JS parsing) and that can be detected very easy from any website.

if you want to know a bit more on the topic drop me a PM!

    thanks,
