I need a good tool to manage contact data for me. It doesn't have to be online and I do not need it to mail or anything else.

I need to have the ability to upload from multiple list and match records based on fields such as email, phone, company, URL, etc.

I know that I can add all records to Excel and delete duplicates, but the duplicate deleted may have data that the other record does not.

This needs to be able to manage up to 3 million records.

    Thanks.

There is a lead software that is very basic, but it might help you out. It's geared more towards lead gen sellers though. check out hxxp://www.instant-leadsc0m/ It's a bit pricey, but easily attained if you ask the right person. If you have that much data we might be able to help each other out depending up what kind it is. I usually get about 1M-2M records of online data a month. And no, I'm talking about sales genie or other expensive data source. PM if you want to talk sometime.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am checking out the site and although it is overkill for what I want to do, I think it will work.

I appreciate your offer to exchange data, but at this time, I am going to pass. I just acquired over 2M new leads and need to manage these before I take on any others.

That will take a lot of trees....

I'm going to give FileMake 12 a try. I do not want to build my own database, but I guess to some degree I'll need to since I will need to specify which fields I want.

If you are looking to send out leads its an ok system. Also, I did not mean I was looking to exchange data. If you sells leads one day keep me in mind. I buy tons of data for the finance vertical.

    Good luck

hire a coder to build one based on a database. could be as low as $50-60 depending on exact requirements. if you want just a record listing, add/delete/edit and search you should not pay more than that price to a newbie developer. max $100 but that would be expensive. This stuff can be done in 1 day.

    SSIS -> SQL DATABASE

It's a damn valuable skill and really, really, really easy to learn. Like literally, drag the excel file into the area, connect an arrow from excel file to the database, input database information, click run. Get good at it and some sucker will pay you 80k a year to do it all day.

Relational databases are great because you can run any query you want against them, develop tons of reports/forms/queries in ms access or .net or anything else and manage it however you want. But the import itself would probably take no more than 2 hours, including the time needed to learn how to do it.

I misunderstood you. Thanks for clearing that up and I will keep you in mind.

Could you imagine working databases all day??? Even of 80k I wouldn't want to (unless all else failed with IM work). Good suggestion though.

I also think a coder should do a good job. As far as software, I dont know one that could manage so many contacts.

    How about Access?
It`s pretty easy to use, and to learn.

I can make an Access database, bu I'm not certain it will allow me to merge records the way I need to to.

I will most likely have to hire someone and skip buying FM.

I've done it during a slow stretch with IM - wasn't too awful bad (as far as 9-5's go) and I learned some skills that have helped me in IM since.

Access can reach into MSSQL/MySQL tables with a pass-through query - all you need is a connection string in the properties of a regular access query and you can select * from sqltable. SQL is powerful enough to merge the records any way you want

You can use many software that are available in the market or you if you can create a software on your own. If it is not possible then hire someone who will do your job.

You would think that someone who replies to a post requesting program suggestions would post more than "many software that are available". Either you boosting your post count or you have no clue what you are talking about.

If you do know, instead of posting "many" when someone ask for a suggestion, post the name of the program instead.

Maybe that has something to do with the low reputation...
