There's a lot of content on this out there already, why not go read some reviews - esp ones by tech / phone magazines? I love my Samsung Focus, it really does everythign I need, despite a couple of very small shortcomings. But it may not be for you, your requirements may be different, right?

iPhone all the way. The only thing that will make a difference is the app store. There are many smart phones in the market and they are better than iPhone but it's the app store that is a major plus point for iPhone. You can get a hell lot of apps.
Those apps makes your phone complete. Other smart phones are way behind iPhone when it comes to applications.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant, which is basically the same thing as the Samsung Fascinate, but on T-Mobile. It is a GREAT phone, one of the most powerful on the market. The OLED screen is amazing, and you can buy one off-contract for less than $300, then use the T-Mobile "Even More Plus" plan, which is contract free, and costs less than normal.

I have a Droid and I like it (uses Google's Android OS). But, I haven't spent a lot of time on other phones.

iPhone 4 is solid though. Hard to go wrong with it. Just get it on a network other than AT&T. They apparently have service issues.

    What carrier do you have?

Sprint - HTC EVO 4G, if you can wait a couple more months get the HTC EVO 3D 4G
Verizon - Droid X, Droid 2, HTC Thunderbolt
    AT&T - Iphone 4, Motrola Atrix
T-Mobile - HTC G2, Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy 4G, if you can wait a couple weeks LG G2X

The new standard in smartphones will be 1.2 ghz and dual cores. Android is a great smartphone OS, Apple iOS is your other choice if you have att/verizon, all depends tho. Blackberry's were good back then, but now that they'll be releasing BBM for android it'll open up more doors. Blackberry will be supporting android apps because the blackberry apps have no support.

New phones coming out after April 15th through August so be on the lookout.

Some say that the latest htc is the best phone. Yeah sure maybe all the things inside are better. But still iPhone ownes every phone that I have tried! iPhone 4 is the best!
