What is the best "mechanical" writing method for a former EzineArticles fan?

There are a million and one ways to make money.

But to have success you've also got to be congruent with your personality.

I hate having a billion and one factors. I used to love the simplicity of EzineArticles back in the day. Write 250 words then wait for the money to roll in.

Is there anything like this anymore where I can just mechanically do something (ideally write content) and the money will flow, both short and long term?

I have tried sites like InfoBarrel but the earnings are awful. I have sold articles but at $5 per 500-word article, this is only worth doing if you live in the non-Western world.

Is there anything as mechanical as the old EZA articles, literally rinse and repeat, anymore?

If you want to write content, I would suggest signing up at Demand Media. Last I checked they have a rather annoying editorial process, but if you can write well they will pay you for it.
