    I have been searching through this forum and I can't make up my mind on what to choose!

    I plan to make a couple of websites in wordpress (10-20 for starters) and then go to 100-200 and I want to know what is the best hosting company.

    Can you guys please help me on this?

    I had host at "W ebH ost ingWo rld" and they SUCK!

    I am thinking FatCow or Hostgator!

    Any advice?

    My requirements are simple:

    -unlimited domains;
    -good for SEO;
    -good overall service, I don't want my sites to fail once a week like they did with previous host;

    THANKS A MILLION!

    Don't use just host 5 of my blogs have been down for 11 hours now and all I'm
    getting is they'll give me a months free hosting on that account. I could've paid
    for 2 years hosting with the money i've lost.
    Bollox to that.

    22 hours now servers still down

    I use 1and1 and they have done great for me, the only thing that I don't like is they do not offer fantastico for wordpress setup. Other than that the uptime is really good and there prices are fair, if you catch them when they are giving deals it can be really cheap.

    For the amount of sites you want I would also recommend Host Gator, and they have fantastico so loading wordpress will be Quick.

    i just talked with justhost, they are so full of bull.

    you have to pay for 3 years to get 3.95 offer which is about $6.

    don't get host with them.

    @fatcow you have to pay for minimum 1 year, the operator i talked to called me rachel by accident, and went for a coke i think while he talked to me because he didn't answer for 20 minutes.

    they suck

    GoDaddy is CRAP... just lost a ton of domains to them...

    I have been trying NameCheap they seem ok so far and they have WhoIsGuard as a standard option with hosting.(Very nice as opposed to 9.99 a month or so with GoCrappy)

    So far so good, also there customer service returned my mail in about 2hrs, and worked with me wonderfully.(Needed my php.ini server side file edited)

    Oh and you can pay by the month..

    I have tried hostgator and no problem at all, but of course should say my sites there are toooo small for making a good judge. If you want to go with VPS go for Powervps.com which I can recommend 99% (nothing is perfect).

    I have been with them almost 5 years and have 4 vps with them.

    Try a VPS from VPSLand. You mentioned performance and virtual private servers are really cheap and can handle a lot of traffic.

    man, 1and1 is so expensive. they offer less than hostgator and they ask for $20.

    Sure they give you 50% discount, but I would rather host at hostgator because they offer unlimited space, unlike 1and1 which offers only 300gb.

    GoDaddy is good for white hat only. Their servers stay up and the prices are decent. There support is bs though.

    IMHO I would have to say eboundhost. I never have any downtime and the communication is great.

    I would go with 1and1, like someone said earlier, if you catch them at the right time they offer great deals. They offer private registration with any domain you buy with them free too, where most sites you have to pay $20 to do that.

    I prefer Dreamhost for a package type hosting and for a server I'd recommend theplanet.

    I've used 1and1 before and they are awful. They have unscrupulous billing practices and there customer support is absolutely horrible. Outsourced to Pakistan or something. Also my ecommerce site went down at random for days at a time. F*CK 1and1

    HostGator is good - haven't had any problems with them so far. I have been with 4 hosts - to me, theirs is the best.

    if you wish to run a network of sites, dont go with big companies. Get dedis or Vps's and stay good. :)

    I've got most of my sites with hostgator, but the support is bs. The last 3 times I've orderered new domains though my account they've "forgotten" to register it, and sales support give some bs about it taking a week before whois is updated :D
