Perhaps the best way to understand the way Google sees your site is to ask Google. Google's Webmaster Tools is novice-friendly with robust resources explaining the fundamentals of Google search. Plus, it's free and works for mobile sites!

The problem with onsite tools is none of them really look at structure and internal linking and for the most part as long as you have your keyword somewhere in the title, meta desc, heading and text a couple times your good to go!

Don't worry about denistys, heck don't even worry if the exact phrase doesn't appear. The 'keyword' can appear across a sentence if you wish!

On page SEO is not as mechanical as it used to be in terms of denistys etc, Google are much better at understanding now.

I've used SEO for Chrome extension. With a mouse click from your existing tool bar, it will give you a quick overview of the site regarding Alexa, page rank, indexed pages etc. One thing I like in particular is it will tell you instantly if a site has follow, nofollow links. Nice for quick overview.

    Leckie,

SEO 4 Firefox is a pretty good add-on and it has an x-ray tool that organizes on-page information for you. It doesn't really give you easy to read alerts like "hey this is broke fix it" or "you need to put x content here" but it cuts out all the distractions on the page and allow you to focus on the elements that matter.

    Best,

    Shawn

Any tool you look at to get perfect onpage omtimisation will not be proven to be exactly what Google requires.

Imagine Google's crawlers see's your onpage optimisation at being perfect, they then say to themselves this site has "perfect" optimisation on everypage, WTF is going on? they then decide to secretly penilise your site because you are obviously producing content to rank higher.

Instead just use your common sense and include the keyword in your title, url, once or twice in tthe content. Produce content that's natural which should naturally include related terms.

If you look into link assistant as mentioned by Zest Media, they take the averages of the top ten ranking sites for a specific keyword, that will tell you that the onpage optimisation is different for each site/page.

Sometime trying to be 100% perfect in on page optimization can result in over optimization. The best tool is Experience. Follow basic guideline of On page optimization and keep experimenting.
