Hey guys, English isn't my native language, so I want to look for the best english grammar check tool, and I tried StyleWrite/WhiteSmoke but I don't like them, can someone recommend another better grammar checker? thanks

This might be a silly question, but is your computer set up in English? Like when you browse the web, are you browsing it in English? The reason I ask is because Firefox has a built-in spell checker. You can also you something like MS Word, which will spell check your entire documents.

I've always found Word to do a good job, but I rarely make glaring grammar errors so I'm not sure just how good it is.

Let me reframe this question for the thread starter. He is in need of a grammar tool which would help him in checking the articles he written.

If someone knows a tool, suggest the same for me too :)

I agree. MS Word is probably one of your better bets but it isn't always right and can suggest some weird things. If your grammar is really terrible it might help though.

To be honest, the best way is human proof-reading. The nature of grammar would make it almost impossible to code a program to a specific set of rules that could correct all mistakes.

Thanks, I did not place hopes on correcting all grammar errors, I feel gratified if this tool can correct obvious errors.

This is what you will get should you decide to pay for essayrater ultimate.
There definitely a learning curve. Don't expect that your errors will be auto corrected just like Whitesmoke. And oh by the way, that wordbooster is just a synonym thing. I'd rather use thebestspinner or magic article rewriter than this.

If you want to do this automatically the best way I've found is to build a markov chain database of common words and grammar symbols. This can be done by ripping free ebooks from the Gutenberg project and comparing the database against the spun article. You'll get a few regular mistakes at first but this is ironed out pretty quickly. What you end up with is a readable article that will look like perfect grammar to search engine spiders. The readability quality is never going to be 100% so it's still not good enough for anything other than pod sites but by doing this it makes it look more like a human's written it with bad English than a bot.

White smoke was mentioned by the op, said he didn't like it. As for me, I use it often, in conjunction with Word. Using them together, I catch most of my errors, sometimes (in the spirit of conversation), I'll ignore them just for the flow, but good tools.
