What is something I could say is on my website, that people would come and then end up being members of my forum. I use to do runescape bots but those just brought childs that spammed and begged. The forum is mostly gaming with a bit of programing, graphics and online marketing. Any suggestions?

I want to know how old your forum is. How many members you have right now. May be active participation in other forums can help you.
Like first you post some interesting quality share in your forum. May be 100-500 for each category using different usernames. Then share few of them in different high traffic forums, may be with your signature or password for files.
Let people notice you. I know this is quite lengthy process but it surely works. Go for bookmarking every unique or quality post. bring some guests ( organic traffic) people convert after seeing fair amount of guest or users online.
I just started an image hosting though different from your field but within 15 days I got some 10 users registered, I accept 8 aren't posting or are inactive but two of them have started posting 3-10 images daily which they share on different forums.
May be I wrote too much or these facts are well known but they work. I'm a regular forum poster for hotfile revenues. and I know it's easy to bring traffic from forums and search engines by just adding url to pictures. People do search what they see.
(don't forget to add fake XYZ users, ABC guests online right now to your forum)

    Cheers !!!!

I take it that your main website gets a decent amount of visitors and you want to get a forum going that's connected to the site.

If that's the case, you need to somehow incentivise the signing up - think why people visit your website and what are the main things they're looking for, then plan it so that your main site would offer about half of what they want (leaving them still a bit unsatisfied), and tell them that the rest can be found on the forum.

Further, make sure that your forum actually DOES contain useful information and that there's a benefit in being a member. Be extremely active in the forum, start "seed-threads", if necessary then hire some paid posters (but be careful with regards to the quality!) to get the numbers up, etc.

    Good luck!

Almost all of the members are inactive.

My forum is the site. Thats it. No extra site attached to it or any of that shit. Just a forum.
