Possible yes. Unlikely tho.
But let's think out of the box.
Could we argue that a Q&A content farm who auto generates millions of questions and pays for answers is black hat? If so, then there's one that's been running for years.
Or, maybe a image spam site which pretends to be a lightbox for select images supposedly chosen by humans but which in reality is just a massive jpeg scraping operation that ranks for every keyword? That's black hat for sure? Well it's been out there for 20 years.
So, what's white and what's black depends on who you know and how much you pay. That's what it boils down to.

I meant the advice to follow google guidelines. We are smart enough to ignore it and still rank.

Started in 2015 the 1st year was not good.
Things were ok from 2nd year and kept improving.
Add some twist like a pinch of spam into blogging it can lasts longer.

Even if it is only 2 years, one can make good roi as investment required is very less with blackhat.

I didn't make much then as now, I was a new to seo and still learning.
I just used the autoblogging software back then had not much idea about keyword research.

I have auto blogs running on free hosts for 5+ years already (Tumblr). They are not good quality because I didn't understand what I was doing and didn't take much time with them, but they are still up and running. I don't think they are worth anything, maybe I get a few dollars each year, but it is still a nice proof of concept.
